How we work
Every category is scored against fixed, published criteria that are set before we look at a single product — the full rubric lives in our reviews and rankings methodology. Deals in the vault run through one consistent underwriting model, documented in the deal methodology, and we publish the results even when a property doesn't pencil. Some links on VaultSTR are affiliate links; the affiliate disclosure explains how that revenue is kept away from editorial decisions.
What we publish
Category research and ranked picks across 16 short-term rental categories, a daily feed of underwritten property deals, state-by-state regulation guides, and free tools — a revenue calculator built on live market data, a pro forma builder, and a furnishing calculator. The STR Daily Deal newsletter is the daily distribution of that work.
What we don't do
We don't accept payment for placement or scores. We don't review tools we haven't evaluated. We don't give financial, legal, or tax advice — underwriting and regulatory content is research, and every deal deserves your own numbers before a wire moves. When we get something wrong, the correction is visible, dated, and on the page.
