VaultSTR was built by operators who were tired of reading vendor brochures dressed up as reviews. While scaling our own short-term rental research, the pattern was everywhere: affiliate-driven rankings with the highest bidder on top, vendor sites describing their weaknesses as strengths, and forum threads that aged out of accuracy years ago.
So we built the resource we wished existed. VaultSTR compares the tools, services, products, lenders and deals behind real short-term rental decisions — 140+ tools across 16 categories, plus underwritten property deals published daily. Every category is scored against fixed, published criteria; every deal runs through one consistent underwriting model, including the ones that do not pencil.
The research serves two readers: the operator making the decision, and the agent advising an investor client who needs a defensible answer, not a vendor pitch.
Independence
Some links on VaultSTR are affiliate links, and some partners compensate us when readers sign up. That revenue never determines inclusion, score, rank or verdict — several top picks pay us nothing. Rankings are decided before monetization is considered, and sponsored links are labeled with the appropriate relationship attributes.
